Barwan Street Intersection Talks

Barwan Street Intersection Talks

Council has proposed to remove the existing Stop signs on busy Barwan Street at the Doyle street intersection and place them on less busy Doyle street.

Narrabri Shire council will invite representatives from Narrabri Public School to a meeting onJuly 20 to discuss and explain the proposed change of Barwan Street into a through road.

Council has proposed to remove the existing Stop signs on busy Barwan Street at the Doyle street intersection and place them on less busy Doyle street.

The issue has aroused strong concerns from Narrabri Public School Council and others that student and pedestrian safety will be compromised by the change in configuration.

The Local Traffic Committee has recommended against the change.

The helping hand given to these students assists them to achieve their potential, and provide regional and rural NSW with a more vibrant and sustainable future.
